Abdominal Fitness Exercises for Men

If you're unhappy with your "beer belly," this set of exercises is designed to target it. The movements are simple and can be done while lying on your back. Complete each exercise the prescribed number of repetitions, without pausing between exercises. After completing all 5 exercises, rest for no more than 15 seconds before repeating. Start with 3 repetitions and gradually increase to 5 or more. Specifically:

Hands behind your head, lift both legs upwards, knees bent at a right angle, extend your right leg forward (but don't touch the ground), lift your body and rotate to the left, touching your right elbow to your left knee. Repeat with your left leg extended forward and to the right. Repeat 10 times.

Hands behind your head, knees bent, feet firmly planted on the ground. Place your right heel on your left knee. Lift your left foot a few centimeters off the ground. Lift your body and legs, touching your head to your right knee. Hold this position for 2-3 seconds. Repeat, but without touching the ground with your left foot. Place your left heel on your right knee and repeat. Repeat 10 times.

Extend your arms to the sides, feet together. Lift your right leg, knee relaxed, and rotate your hips to the left, letting your right leg cross your body and lie on the floor. Slowly return your right leg to the starting position. Repeat with your left leg. Repeat 10 times.

Place your hands at your sides, lift both legs, bend your knees to a right angle, tighten your abdominal muscles, and lift your hips, bringing your knees to your chest. Hold this position for 2-3 seconds, then repeat. Repeat 20 times.

Place your hands behind your head, elbows out to the sides. Lift both legs, soles together, knees slightly bent. Lift your head and shoulders, keeping your back on the ground, then return to the starting position. Repeat 20 times.
